Signal represents one of the only private and secure messaging apps that has been widely adopted by the general public. Most people, though, don't know about all of the important security features that it offers.

Not everybody is willing to spend the time creating a Proton account, downloading a messaging app or changing the privacy settings on their social media accounts.

That's why it's such a big deal that Signal has crossed the critical mass threshold.

They may not have heard about Threema or Session, but they have heard about Signal and likely already have it downloaded on their mobile device.

This makes it a lot easier to migrate your conversations to a secure messaging app as opposed to Meta's Messenger, WhatsApp or other big tech apps.

​Brave now supports email aliases!​

Chrome alternative Brave just added a good reason to make the switch to its browser: email aliases. The feature, announced this week, allows Brave’s users to sign up for websites and other online services without having to share their personal email addresses.
