Welcome to the Newsletter!

Hi [CORRECTED_NAME GOES HERE], there's been a large influx of people recently so I thought I'd take a moment to say hi and give you a quick introduction to the newsletter.

This is me. Josh.

I write this newsletter myself on top of doing the website and the YouTube channel. (I'm trying to build a team...but it's a slow process!)

I always start off with a primary topic, which in this case is the Starbucks & Krispy Kreme breaches, and then if you scroll down you'll see the news roundup featuring the most interesting privacy and security news that I've found.

I'm always open to feedback on this format and the content created, so feel free to reply and let me know.

Here's to a more secure and private year online!

Privacy & Security Roundup:

Airports & Biometrics

License Plate Camera = LIVE Feed?

Apple Settles Privacy Case for $95 Million

The lawsuit alleged that Siri spied on users and as part of the settlement, Apple admits no wrong. $95 million might seem like a lot until you realize that all class action members (iPhone users) might receive about $20. I'm sure the lawyers did fine, though.

Do you use aliases?

I've seen that in this new wave of subscribers, quite a few are using aliases. If you're not doing that...why not? What's stopping you from using email aliases?

Credit Card alternatives

March 2026 Secure Payments 3 Levels of Payment Security Have you ever considered how stupid it is that a "security code" is literally printed on the back of your physical credit card?
