Finally... a PGP Tutorial

Encrypt your emails from Google

Did you know that there are free ways to encrypt your emails with PGP that aren't as complicated as they seem? I finally created a tutorial that I wish I had ten years ago:

"pretty" good privacy?

Hi [CORRECTED_NAME GOES HERE], I've honestly avoided PGP for far too long. I've known that it's an effective way to secure my email communication, but it felt really confusing.

The funny thing is that PGP (aka "pretty good privacy") is a actually really old technology.

As in...more than 30 years old.

At one point the U.S. treated the export of this technology as an "illegal arms shipment" but now it's open source.

It's amazing that this encryption has held up for three decades, yet it still remains the standard for high-level email security.

BUT...

...there are a two important things you need to know before you can use it:

• You need two parties to engage in PGP encryption. It is not a one-sided setting;
• There is no one-size-fits-all solution to implementing PGP encryption;

And that is why I created a PGP encryption tutorial that I wish I had a decade ago.
