Testing the Limits of an Alias

What if you stopped handing out your personal information every time you're asked for it and instead use a private alias? I decided to put this to the test to see if I could protect my personal data for a full day.

I Put Private Digital Aliases to the Test (for 1 full day)

Note: If you think you know aliases, think again. I learned some really important lessons about using private aliases in the real world that blew my mind.

Hey there - it's been quite the summer!

I've been traveling all of the US with my family this summer and while we were there, I decided to start using a pseudonym for any and everything I could.

What crazy isn't that I was able to use a private alias; the crazy part was that when I started paying attention, I was shocked at how often I was asked for my personal info.

It happens all the time, whether we're shopping, trying to get on public WiFi or simply asking for a receipt from a purchase we made. Our data is valuable to companies and they've learned that if they just ask for it...

...most of us just tend to hand it over.

You don't have to do that anymore, though! There are plenty of ways to use private aliases and if you want to try MySudo free for 30 days, I think you might enjoy it.

Meta has filed a patent application for an AI that listens to your voice throughout the day, works out how it thinks you are feeling from the way you sound, and keeps a timestamped log of every read.

Say hello to Mr. Winters

I have a number of aliases, all with the last name of "Winters," and although it might sound complicated, I've found that MySudo makes it super easy to keep them organized.

Have you used a full private digital alias before? Or just an email alias?
